We're about two months out from the world wide release of Yon's new series Las Chicas del Cable.. what do we know so far? Well, we know that he plays the role of Francisco, the director of the new telephone company which has opened its doors in late 1920's Madrid Spain. The company hires Cable Girls who are sleek and refined and who are able to reach the controls on the telephone panels. Four of these Cable Girls are the focus of the show. We know that the telephone building and everything in it belongs to Dona Carmen who is played by Concha Velasco.. We also know that Dona Carmen has two children and is married to a villain.. Is Francisco one of her children? Ponder that question. What do we know about the four Cable Girls.. Well, we know that Ana Fernandez's character, Carlota, will be a revolutionary character for that time frame. She will discover that she can love anyone regardless of whether the person is a female or male. Maggie Civantes plays the role of Angeles, a woman who is having problems with her husband, appears to be weak, but wants to be independent. We also know that the character of Marga played by Nadia de Santiago brings a touch of humor to the show. She's a country girl who is trying to make her way in the big city in a competitive firm. It will be fun to watch her grow.
And then there's Lidia, played by Blanca Suarez. According to Ramon Campos, the executive director and creator of the series, we know that she is the key to the plot. It is around her which everything revolves. She is a woman with a past, a thief.. Someone whom Francisco had known before as a teenager. She comes to the company with the intent to steal. But steal what?? When she is recognized by Francisco, she denies that she is the same person of her past.. What is her past? what does she intend to do? and how do the other characters in the show related to her story? We'll find out beginning April 28!
