Yon González has always said that one of his dreams is to work in the theater. In one of his interviews he recounted a story about a long sequence he did for one of his projects. Yon describes the feeling of euphoria he experienced during the shoot which gave him the desire to act in front of an audience. He did do two very brief stints in live theater during 2009, which gave him a taste of performing before a live audience.
In November 2009, Yon González played the role of a hustler dealing with his troubled client in the microopera Por Dinerocreated by Miguel Alcantud which focused on the goings on at a brothel. Also in 2009, Yon and his fellow cast mates from the series El Internado, Ana de Armas, Elena Furiase and Daniel Retuerta took part in the Teatro Nuevo Apolo de Madrid for a presentation of Psicosis,a montage of macabre humor.
In September of 2015 it was announced that Yon González would have a role in the Avanti Theater production of El Jurado, a play written by Luis Felipe Blasco Vilches. In November 2015, we found out that Yon González bowed out of doing the play due to other commitments around the same timeframe.
